    Great opportunity to be part of a highly valued and supportive HR team, while supporting and influencing the success of your own client groups!   Selective is looking for an experienced, strategically focused HR  business partner for our P&C insurance regional operations in two NJ locations (Branchville & Hamilton, NJ), supporting approximately 200 employees.   This role provides strategic HR consultation, planning and demonstrating the value of human capital management in support of the business strategy to achieve superior business results. The HR Manager will engage and influence business leaders by providing valuable input to align the human capital plan with business objectives. This role also develops and implements action plans to strengthen our competitive advantage - our people!

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provides consultative and collaborative support to both our northern NJ and southern NJ regional operations in all areas of human resources, including integrated talent and performance management, strategic workforce planning, compensation planning, employee relations and policy interpretation and administration.
    • Supports the talent management strategy through consulting and partnering with COEs for all talent needs such as recruiting and selection, culture and engagement, talent review, training and development needs for all employees (including management), strategic workforce planning, and total rewards. Ensures strong communication, execution and delivery of all talent strategies throughout the regional claims organizations and partners with the leadership team to develop and/or support succession and development plans.
    • In conjunction and consultation with the corporate business partners, develops and implements human capital project plans/initiatives, to establish effective organizational designs, structures, and efficiency in support of business objectives.
    • Act as a change agent to the business; design processes and approaches to prepare the organization for ongoing change and transformation. In partnership with the COE, use agreed change leadership techniques including approaches to organizational diagnosis, business design, project management, and application of HR change policies, best-practice internal consulting techniques to successfully deliver effective organizational and cultural change.
    • Analyzes all employee/operational data (i.e., HR metrics) to pro-actively identify areas of concern or opportunity. Works with managers to develop plans to address issues, measure effectiveness, and follow-up, as necessary.
    • Assists in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and communication of all employee-related programs and activities. Conducts ER and/or leadership training programs, as required.
    • Works closely with management and employees to build and improve relationships, build morale, increase engagement, productivity, performance and retention.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years as a progressively responsible human resources generalist/business partner.
    • College degree with PHR, SPHR, CP or SCP preferred
    • Proven human resources acumen in Talent Management, Employees Relations, Rewards & Recognition, Metrics & Analytics, Performance Management and Change Management
    • Relationship management with strong collaboration skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to regularly travel between Branchville, NJ and Hamilton, NJ
