    Excellent opportunity for an experienced underwriting leader in our Service Center environment!   Supervise and manage the day to day underwriting operations that supports both personal lines and generally small commercial lines P&C insurance.   This can include renewals, policy changes and cross selling opportunities.   Responsible for team of approximately 7-9 account executives and underwriters.





    • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors activities of an underwriting unit to obtain and ensure accurate, quality work while at the same time maintaining high production standards.


    • Schedules, priorities and distributes workflow of unit to ensure work is done in a timely fashion and all deadlines are met.


    • Provides guidance to agents and policyholders and provides technical guidance and expertise to underwriters. Acts as a liaison with other supervisors or branches with whom their unit interacts.


    • Recommends procedural changes and plans, organizes and implements these changes. Keeps current on all changes effecting unit's work production and on changes within the insurance industry.


    • Responsible for the profitability and production of the team per budget.


    • Arbitrate problems between agents, insured’s, or other departments.


    • Develops and monitors management reports.


    • 5+ years P&C underwriting experience
    • experience with both personal and commercial lines a plus!
    • Leadership experience strongly preferred
    • college degree or equivalent experience
    • will need to obtain VA P&C license within about 120 days.
