    This role is committed to developing and delivering on the Employee Experience and Selective’s Employer Branding strategy utilizing a broad range of assets across the organization. A unique opportunity for an experienced individual with superior project management, communications and relationship building skills to partner across the organization to develop and implement comprehensive programs that drive employee engagement and strengthen the employee value proposition. Cultivates relationships with leading corporate responsibility, civic and service organizations to engage and activate employees in impactful local community activities in support of Selective’s culture and values.


    • Governs enterprise efforts related to all aspects of the employee experience including but not limited to on-boarding, engagement surveys, Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), VIBES (our employee volunteer committee) and other employee engagement initiatives, as well as exit interviews/turnover trends.
    • Partners with the HR team and senior leaders to analyze results, identify trends and make recommendations to improve and maintain high levels of employee engagement. Acts as a subject matter expert for all employee engagement related inquiries and projects.
    • Partners with key stakeholders across the organization to develop and deliver  a compelling Employee Engagement and Employer Branding strategy.
    • Conducts internal research to understand employee engagement metrics and formulate goals to support the strategy. Develops the annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report demonstrating the commitments of the organization.
    • Develops, executes and manages all aspects of employee engagement programs across the organization including the strategic roll-out of new programs across sites and business units. This includes defining program objectives and metrics, aligning resources requirements, developing agendas and content, managing logistics, and reporting on results and cost/benefit analysis.
    • Evaluates employee engagement programs to ensure they are meeting the needs of the rapidly growing business, and proposes creative solutions for improving effectiveness. Evaluates programs against industry standards; analyzes results and develops action plans to ensure a best-in-class employee experience consistently across the organization’s footprint.  Proposes new programs and key initiatives to key business and senior leaders. 
    • Partners with HR and Marketing teams to increase employee awareness, understanding and participation in programs via the company intranet, corporate website, and other social/digital channels. Collaborates to develop content that champions the employee and company experiences to all internal and external audiences, ensuring overall messaging consistency across business units and in social media channels. Manages continuous development of social media content for publication.
    • Partners with Leadership Development to oversee the development, distribution and analysis of employee engagement surveys, including the formation of survey objectives, the implementation of the survey process, and the analysis and presentation of the survey results.
    • Maintains a pulse on employee morale and engagement, continuously identifying opportunities to create an engaged workforce.
    • Manages relationships with community partners and vendors across the footprint. Assists in the development and recommendation of an annual employee engagement budget to support strategic initiatives.
    • Establishes effective governance, oversight and management of internal employee committees and event planning resources to coordinate employee engagement events including employee appreciation day, Annual Cash Incentive Plan (ACIP) day, Bring Your Child To Work Day, holiday events, volunteerism, etc.


    • 5-7 years professional experience in corporate communications, marketing, employee engagement and/or human resources including experience in social media marketing, branding and/or communications - creating/developing content, presentations, and other written, video, or graphic materials targeted at employee engagement and employer branding.
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) or equivalent in communications, marketing/social media, human resources, business or a related discipline required; masters in a related field a plus.
    • Strong project management experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver results across diverse cultures from inception to completion.
    • Ability to manage through influence and work effectively with key stakeholders in all levels of the organization.

    • Comfortable in fast-paced, results-oriented environment, while remaining flexible to changing priorities and open to new ideas.

    • Demonstrated ability to be a thought leader with a strategic vision and ability to connect a broad spectrum of employee engagement activities into a unified proposition that meets both social and organizational priorities.

    • Appreciation and understanding of corporate social responsibility and its importance to the organization.

    • Keeps abreast of industry emerging practices and best-in-class social media communication initiatives and strategies.
